Getting Started
When you first open Zerra, you'll be guided through a short onboarding flow. You'll choose your primary reason for quitting sugar, select the persona that best matches you (e.g. Sweet Tooth, Gym-Goer), and set your first daily reminder. The whole setup takes under two minutes.
No account is required. All your data — streaks, journal entries, stats — is stored locally on your device using SwiftData. You can start using Zerra immediately after download with no sign-up.
Zerra requires iOS 17 or later. It is optimized for iPhone. If you're running an older iOS version, please update your device through Settings → General → Software Update.
Streaks & Tracking
A successful day is logged when you complete your daily check-in and mark yourself as sugar-free. Zerra doesn't track what you eat — it's an honour system powered by your honest self-reporting. The goal is progress, not perfection.
If you miss a check-in, Zerra will give you a grace period until the following day to retroactively log yesterday. Once the grace period passes, the day is marked as missed and your streak resets. We recommend enabling daily reminders to avoid this.
Yes. Open the Stats tab and tap on any past day in your calendar view. You can update the check-in status and craving rating for days within the last 30 days.
SOS Mode
SOS Mode is Zerra's craving-intervention tool — our most-used feature. Tap the red SOS button any time you feel a sugar craving coming on. It will rate your craving, then guide you through a personalised fix: guided breathing, a mini-game, a mindfulness exercise, or a motivational tip. Most users report the craving passing within 3–5 minutes.
One of the SOS interventions uses your front camera to guide a biofeedback breathing exercise. It reads subtle colour changes in your face to estimate your heart rate and tells you when your body has calmed down. No images or video are saved or transmitted — it all happens on-device in real time.
Subscription & Billing
Zerra is a fully paid app — there is no free tier. Your one-time purchase or subscription includes everything: daily check-ins, streak tracking, unlimited SOS Mode, advanced stats charts, all mini-games, guided meditations, the Coach, and full journal access.
Subscriptions are managed entirely by Apple. To cancel:
- Open Settings on your iPhone.
- Tap your name at the top, then Subscriptions.
- Find Zerra and tap Cancel Subscription.
You'll retain access until the end of the current billing period.
First, try restoring your purchase: go to Zerra → Settings → Restore Purchases. If that doesn't work, force-quit the app and reopen it. If the issue persists, email us with your Apple ID and the date of purchase and we'll sort it out.
Data & Privacy
No. Zerra does not sell or share your personal data with any third party. All your check-in data, journal entries, and stats are stored locally on your device. Anonymous crash reports may be sent through Apple's standard crash-reporting service. See our Privacy Policy for full details.
Not in the current version. All your data is stored locally on your device and cannot be transferred at this time. Cloud backup and cross-device sync are planned for an upcoming version of Zerra — stay tuned!
