Your privacy matters to us. This Privacy Policy explains what information Zerra collects, how it is used, and your rights regarding that information. We've designed Zerra to be as privacy-friendly as possible — most of your data never leaves your device.
a. Information We Collect
Zerra collects the following types of information to provide you with a personalized sugar-quitting experience:
- Onboarding answers — your selected goal, persona type, and personal reasons for quitting sugar.
- Daily check-in data — whether you were sugar-free each day and your craving intensity ratings.
- Journal entries — any notes or reflections you write within the app.
- Streak and progress data — your streak history, milestone achievements, and stats.
- Push notification preferences — whether you've opted in to reminder notifications and your preferred reminder times.
All of the above data is stored locally on your device using SwiftData. No account creation is required, and your personal data is not transmitted to or stored on Zerra's servers.
b. How We Use Your Data
The data collected by Zerra is used exclusively to provide you with the app's core features:
- To personalize your plan based on your selected goal and persona.
- To display your progress — streaks, stats charts, craving history, and achievements.
- To send streak reminders via push notifications (if enabled).
- To surface relevant mini-games and SOS interventions based on your check-in data.
We do not use your data for advertising, profiling, or any purpose beyond the direct delivery of Zerra's features.
c. Data Sharing
We do not sell your data. We do not share your personal information with third parties for marketing purposes.
The only data sharing that occurs is anonymous, aggregated analytics used to improve app stability and performance. Crash reporting is handled through Apple's standard crash reporting tools, which do not include personally identifiable information.
Zerra does not use any third-party analytics SDKs, advertising networks, or data brokers.
d. In-App Purchases
Zerra offers optional premium subscriptions through Apple's App Store. All payment processing is handled exclusively by Apple. Zerra does not collect, store, or have access to any payment information, including credit card numbers, billing addresses, or purchase history beyond what Apple makes available to developers (subscription status only).

e. Push Notifications
Zerra may send you push notifications to remind you to check in, celebrate milestone streaks, or encourage you during your sugar-free journey.
- Push notifications are opt-in only. You will be prompted to allow notifications when you first set up the app.
- You can disable notifications at any time by going to iOS Settings → Notifications → Zerra.
- Disabling notifications does not affect your access to any app features.
f. Children's Privacy
Zerra is intended for use by individuals aged 18 years and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has used Zerra and provided personal information, please contact us immediately at hello@zerraapp.com and we will take appropriate steps to address the situation.
g. Your Rights
Because all your personal data is stored locally on your device, you have full control over it at all times:
- Access — all your data is visible within the app at any time.
- Deletion — you can delete all app data by uninstalling Zerra from your device, or by using the reset/delete option within the app settings.
- Portability — your journal entries and stats are accessible directly within the app.
